Safety switch for hinged guards
HINGE SAFETY SWITCH FOR HINGED GUARDS
In addition to conventional safety switches with separate actuators, safety sensors with different operating principles and position switches with a safety function, designers can also opt for hinge safety switches when it comes to monitoring the position of hinged guards. This special design of safety switch enables the installation-friendly and tamper-proof protection of both small hinged doors and service flaps as well as heavy hinged doors on machines and systems. Thanks to their extremely compact construction and unobtrusive design, these hinge safety switches are suitable for hinged guards, especially for design-orientated machines and systems.HINGED SAFETY SWITCHES: DESIGN AND OPERATING PRINCIPLE
An integrated cam disc in the safety switches ensures that the safety function is triggered at a certain angle. This ensures that the requirement for a positive linkage between the cam and the actuator is satisfied in accordance with EN ISO 14119. As the safety switch also acts as a hinge, the designer can dispense with a structural element, depending on the design. This ensures a high degree of protection against manipulation, as the safety function is hidden in the hinge cover. A hinge safety switch enables a compact design and convenient access to the machine's working area. No switching element is required on the opening side of the safety door.
SERIES T.C., TV.S AND TESK/TESZ
The Schmersal Group offers three different series of hinge safety switches in its extensive range:
- The Series T.C. 235/236 is used for position monitoring of maintenance hatches and of smaller rotary doors and guards.
- The TV.S series is to a certain extent suitable for heavy guard doors. The switch is attached to the door hinge by means of a shaft or a shaft joint.
- The TESK and TESZ series were designed for universal use on safety doors of systems and machinery. The former is characterised by the free adjustability of the switching angle over the entire working range.
In its online catalogue, the Schmersal Group provides even more detailed information on the available hinge safety switches.
