POSITION SWITCH: MODULAR PS SERIES
Model 1 position switches in accordance with EN ISO 14119 are used to monitor the position of moving parts on systems and machinery or to monitor specific points (e.g. limit positions). The switches are used to implement new work processes on the one hand and to signal their completion on the other. Position switches of modular series PS have IP66 or IP67 degrees of protection and can be used in industrial applications in all manner of industries.FLEXIBLE USE: POSITION SWITCHES FROM THE MODULAR PS SERIES
The PS series has a modular design with universally applicable components across all series, thus reducing the number of variants. This reduces warehousing costs and increases availability at the same time. All series PS116, PS2xx and PS3xx position switches can be used as complete switchers or be used as basic switches in a modular system. Depending on the application, the basic switch can then be combined with a whole range of different actuating elements. This ensures the greatest possible flexibility in use.
DESIGN AND MODE OF OPERATION OF THE POSITION SWITCHES WITH SAFETY FUNCTION
All position switches of the modular PS series are equipped with positive-break normally closed contacts in accordance with IEC 60947-5-1 and are available as slow-action and snap-action configurations. Combined with a suitable safety controller, an individual position switch can be used up to Performance Level (PL) d (likelihood of a hazardous failure per hour between 0.00001 and 0.0001%). PL e is also possible when two switches are used (likelihood of failure between 0.000001 and 0.00001%).
