Safety relay modules SRB-EXi

The latest edition of the SRB-EXi safety relay modules combines functional safety, reliable signal processing and safety release with the requirements of explosion protection. It monitors the connected sensors, E-Stop command devices, interlocking devices, reset buttons and safety sensors with the ignition protection type intrinsic safety ‘i’. The modules were designed on the basis of the ATEX guideline 94/9/EC as well as the European standards EN 60 079 ff. The EXi monitoring circuits are intrinsically safe and designed for category 2GD or 3G devices according to ATEX, IECEx and INMETRO. Accordingly, emergency stop command devices and safety door monitoring can be used in areas at risk of dust and gas explosions.

SRB-EXi safety relay modules for various ATEX categories

The sensors can be installed in zones 1/2 and 21/22, while the PROTECT SRB-EXi modules can be installed in a suitable control cabinet in gas Ex zone . The Schmersal product portfolio includes two versions of the safety relay: the SRB 101Exi module with one safety contact and the SRB 200Exi version with two safety contacts. Both versions are used for the signal processing of E-Stop command devices, interlocking devices and other machine safety components. The user can choose between an automatic reset function (type version 1A) or a reset with edge detection (1R) for both the SRB 101Exi and SRB 200Exi models.

SRB-EXi safety relay modules from the reliable partner for machine safety

In addition to the SRB-EXi safety relay modules, Schmersal's comprehensive product range also includes other PROTECT SRB series safety relay modules for the safe evaluation of switching signals. Emergency stop buttons, electromechanical position switches, safety switches and solenoid interlocks on sliding, hinged or removable guard doors can be used as the switching element. PROTECT SRB modules are also available for optoelectronic protective devices (AODPs).
