Structure and function of the foot switches
When the foot pedal is pressed down to the pressure point, the normally open contact closes: the machine function is started. If the operator presses the pedal beyond this pressure point, the positively opening normally closed contact is opened and the machine function is stopped. A mechanical interlock prevents a restart or an uncontrolled restart of the machine. The switch is unlocked manually via a pushbutton on the housing. To prevent unintentional triggering, all foot switches are protected by a protective shield. Versions with two pedals are also available, where one pedal is used to trigger the safety function and the other to trigger a process function. Users can choose between different switching and contact variants. A maximum of four contacts are possible per pedal.
Safety foot switches TFH 232 and T2FH 232
The safety foot switches in the TFH 232 and T2FH 232 series are equipped with a die-cast aluminium housing. The single-pedal TFH 232 variant comes with two or four contacts, while the double-pedal T2FH 232 version has four, six or eight. Both feature IP65 protection and are therefore protected against dust and water jets. The switches are characterised by a high level of stability and can be used in ambient temperatures from -25 to +60 °C.
