MULTIFUNCTIONAL SAFETY RELAY MODULES PROTECT SRB-E

The multifunctional safety relay modules in the PROTECT SRB-E series can cover a wide range of application profiles in eight available variants. They are suitable for monitoring all common electromechanical and electronic safety switches and solenoid interlocks as well as safety sensors and optoelectronic protective devices. The relay modules evaluate safe signals, such as those from positive opening position switches, various safety sensors and E-STOP/EMERGENCY STOP command devices. Signals from magnetic safety switches and optoelectronic protective devices (AOPDs) such as light barriers and light grids are also analysed by the safety relays. They can also be used in applications up to SIL 3 in accordance with EN 62061/IEC 61508 and category 4/PL e in accordance with 13849-1.

A major advantage of the SRB-E series is its multifunctionality: each variant can replace several dozen existing SRB modules. Each module can be configured for up to eleven different applications. This process is carried out via an easy-to-use control element. The safety relay enables the monitoring of all common safety sensors and electromechanical protective devices. It also makes it much easier for machine manufacturers to select the right module for their individual application. This is thanks to the reduced number of versions and the clear presentation of the eight variants and their respective functions.

STRUCTURE AND MODE OF OPERATION OF THE SAFETY RELAYS

The Schmersal Group's multifunctional safety relay modules are equipped with two rotary switches. These are used to set functions such as start/reset monitoring or to control the required drop-out delay time of the safety outputs. After commissioning, the transparent cover of the front panel can be secured with a standard seal. The PROTECT SRB-E series impresses with very short response times and signals detailed status and diagnostic messages via LED displays.
